Fred Allen - State President

Fred Allen - State President

Fred joined the Utah National Guard in 1963 and completed Basic Training at Fort Ord. He served as an enlisted soldier until 1966, when he was commissioned a 2nd Lieutenant and subsequently twenty-four years serving as a full time soldier. Military education included Command and General Staff College, Industrial War College,.and Defense Systems Management College. Fred served in Germany, Hawaii and Korea, and Vietnam. His job also took him on assignments to Thailand, Japan, Italy and the Philippines. After serving as director of material, Tank Automotive Command, Fred retired in 1992 as a full colonel and returned to his home state of Utah. His civilian employment has been as Director of Material for an electrical manufacturing firm and as a work shop speaker for a marketing company. He first joined AUSA in the Officer Basic Course, Aberdeen Proving Ground in 1968. He has served on chapter executive committees in Korea, Fort Mead, and Utah. This includes several years as President of the Utah Chapter and current service as the Utah State President.

Mike Menser - Chapter President

After enlistment and 30 months in Southeast Asia, Menser graduated from Infantry OCS as the Distinguished Honor Graduate. For the next 26 years, he commanded airborne, mechanized and light infantry units in peace and war and served in numerous staff, instructor, and training positions in Germany, Turkey, Israel, Egypt, Panama, South America, inter alia. Post retirement employment in the Defense Industry allowed him to maintain close ties with the Army. He currently resides in Sandy, Utah with his wife, Christine. He has served on the Board of Directors for the U.S. Army Sniper Association, U.S. Army Officer Candidate School Association, and is currently President of the Utah Chapter, AUSA.

Don Johnson - Chapter Treasurer

Don Johnson - Chapter Treasurer

CSM, (USA, Ret) Don Johnson is our treasurer and has held that position for 24 years. Don served in the Army Reserve for 33 plus years and has held many assignments one of which was a driver for the M48A1 tank. He served as CSM for 2 Generals and has received the Legion of Merit medal. Don was a school teacher and administrator for 40 years in the Salt Lake City School District. He and his lovely wife, Annette, have been married for 50 years and they have two sons and 5 grandchildren.

Jo Jaeyoung Jenkins - VP Membership

Jaeyoung Jenkins enlisted in the Active US Army after moving to the US from South Korea. She served in Operation Enduring Freedom in Afghanistan from 2011-2012. After transitioning from Active Army to the Army Reserves she continued to serve the Army as a DoD contractor (Afghanistan) and DoD Civilian (Germany). She currently works for Guidehouse as a Senior Consultant advising on several strategic Air Force and Army programs.

Ryan Jenkins - VP ROTC/JROTC

K. Ryan Jenkins is a Brigham Young University Army ROTC Commissioned Officer who has served in the Army Reserves for nearly 20 years in the Aviation, Logistics, and Civil Affairs branches. Ryan has also been a DoD contractor overseas for 10 years managing large contracts in Afghanistan, Kuwait, Bahrain, Diego Garcia, Singapore, Germany to name a few. Ryan currently works for Palladium International as their Senior DoD Business Development Advisor.
